the rock stacking and unstacking has been going on for years, funny to watch. last time some one destroyed the stacked rocks they threw a bunch in mirror lake, real smart.

Huh? I liked the topic, and the first thread grew like a stack !
I have for the last thirty years left stacked rocks where ever I go.

Sorry...Deleting entire threads is incredibly lame. It was a good subject matter for discussion. I regret putting any effort into threads around here because people keep freaking out and deleting 1000's of responses with a click of a button the second they don't agree with something.
I'm gonna go kick over some cairns now.

This is not Mirror Lake . . . what is the problem with some stacking? The trail to get to this site is an old mining road . . . talk about unsightly.

My wife Merry will sometimes balance one rock somewhere in an impossible looking way.
One time she balance one rock down by the river.
It took her about an hour to get it to balance.
The next day the copy cats and imitators who can't balance a rock on a point put up several stacks in the surrounding area.
Monkey see monkey try to copy but fails .......

If there ain't any water around to knock that sh#t down w/in ~24 hours, knock that sh#t down.
And knock it off. It's not just your experience, and not everybody enjoys your 'art'.

Sometimes I do the ranger led hike called The Firery Furnace in Arches. It's an incredible maze of fins and unless you watch a video and sign all kinds of crapola you aren't permitted to do it without a ranger. They make a point that you are NOT to make any trail markers/cairns if you go in there on your own.
When doing the hike with rangers they gleefully knock down and scatter any cairns they come across. I've never been in there that there haven't been cairns to topple.

Who else just realized there are a lot more of these criminal piles of rock
littering the landscape. A blight on the land ruining the vistor experience.
Whats good for Mirror Lake should be a thousand times better
for Monument Valley.
Just anothern example of what happens when public servants get comfortable
surfing porn on their swivel chairs inside air conditioned visitor centers
with automatic coffee makers and boxes of donuts.
