Mark Kroese

Classic North American Climbing Areas

View Slideshow »

Mark Kroese started climbing in 1976—at the impressionable age of 15, back in the days of swami belts and rugby shirts—and has been exploring the high and wild ever since. His mountaineering and rock climbing adventures have taken him all over world. In addition to climbing extensively in the western United States, he has climbed in South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Newfoundland, the Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Alberta. Some of the photos in this slide show feature climbs that in Mark's popular book "Fifty Favorite Climbs."
