Recovering from spinal surgery, day #3.

She had an accute ruptured disk, between #6 and #7 vertibrae. They went in through the throat area to get at it.

LOVE all the dog posts-cheers me so much (I've seen a couple Asia look alikes, I think she has relatives on this thread. So I've been reading some "dog" type of books, you all should consider reading:

The Art of Racing in the Rain.
Merle's Door: Lessons from a freethinking dog.

Awesome books!!!!

Hey, Gal.

She's doing better that I expected.

She thinks she's recovered completely, but we're just getting started.

Today is Day #4 after surgery, and I have had to confine her to a limited area ( 6' x 6' ) in the house to keep her from following me around. She needs to rest, whether she wants to or not.

She cries, but it's only because she's feeling sorry for herself. She has to stay in the house, and she not allowed to hop up on the sofa ( doctor's orders ).

A few months ago, she started walking all clumsy, falling down, etc. Turned out she ruptured a disc in her neck, and it was compressing her spinal cord and disrupting signals to her legs.

Acupuncture made her feel better, but it didn't help her coordination any, so surgery was the only answer.
