Nice pics John! Both those zones look like they could be fun with some freshies.. There's lots of snow in the east this year no?
I'm not gonna lie Bruce. As Ryan has said, it's still a little boney down there.
But the foundation has been laid. I'm a strong believer that we will have at least one more system in march with good temperatures.

A low angle, but fun one at Kirkwood on Saturday.
Change the setting to 720hd for the best quality.

An unusual amount of the snow fell south of the ski hills. One of my HS classmates, broke her wrist skiing in Virginia around the holidays. I didn't even know there was skiing in Virginia and in a normal year, you'd be taking a risk to book Vermont that early in the season.

Good to see you're getting some days in Susan!! Thanks Brian....not so many in California, but overall doing ok. Was up in Bozeman for awhile and in December I visited my son in Germany and did some "Euro " skiing.
At least I've been getting a lot of biking in!

Cool Video and pics Brian! Looks like you guys have been getting some precip lately as well! I'm glad.
Cool video TC. That's quite the slide. Class 3+ i would say.
Great to see you on snow Susan!! Did you take any pictures in Germany? I'd love to see em!
That's too bad John. If you make it up here i'd be glad to show you around.
There was a bit of snow Monday morning...
It was blower on top of a frozen solid base.
We found the sweet spot again. Tash dropping in.
Sandra and Tash enjoying the blower freshies.
I went up today for a couple laps.
It was pretty good up there but way heavier, and it was wearing me out pretty quick. I came down early to save some energy for my acupuncture appointment this afternoon.

With 24" of new at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky, and Discovery getting a foot--I'd say it's a great powder day to help close out the season.

Wow, that was a monster that hit Crystal Mt - right to the ground. That is
highly unusual for the NW to my thinking, especially for March.

Good to hear your getting some Mojede!
Crazy avalanche at Crystal eh? Thanks for posting that kunlun shan.
you are right Reilly, it's highly unusual for us to have that kind of action so early. We had a decent start and then a big break which gave the whole coast a pretty crappy persistent weak layer. Then a couple more sh!tty layers on top of that followed by a ton of snow. That was the result.
I've been out a couple times lately. First though i have some pics from my sled day up Brandywine by my new buddy Dan Galic.

My buddy Corey has been bugging me to get out Sled Skiing. We got some new snow last week and then it cleared up, so we seized the opportunity.
Pemberton Ski Hill
Corey at the first peak.
When you go sled skiing with just a partner, you need two sleds. One gets left at the bottom of your line, then you double up on the other.
Then after your run, you gotta start the process all over again and take both sleds down. If you're good on the sled, this part is pretty fun too.
First peak downline. I just rode the chute (sledded) on the middle right of the image.
Back at the top we did another stellar run.
Ipsoot Glacier
Corey gets a deep slash in the light before dropping into the chute.
Corey dropping in to another horrible commute back to the bottom so we can snowboard again... lol
Corey getting some
Money Shot!!
Sledding is so rad. You can really make use of the terrain! Up/down, flat, doesn't matter. It's all fun.
After a little lunch we dropped in again.
Corey riding the Dogleg Chute look for the little dot on the face just below the left peak.
Dropping in to yet another epic downline
So much fun!!
The scenery is simply breathtaking
This downline was pretty much the end of the day, but we stopped at the cabin so i could rest my aching back.
Corey rooping the hip in front of Mt Currie
The view from the cabin
The best thing about sleds is the ablity to use terrain that would be absolutely useless to any other gravity based snowsport.
The Cabin and my 2005 Skidoo Summit "The Blue Dragon" She has 17,000km on her. I just keep fixing her up and she treats me nice!
