eKat, he's still liking his life. Any trip to the beach is a peak experience for both dogs.
Jack forgets he's old, and runs through the surf like a puppy. Then sleeps all the next day.

I've often said that coming back in the next life as one of my wife's dogs would be an elevated state of being. Here you can see Gus the Great relaxing in his living room after I built him a fire in the wood stove. I hope at some point to reach terrier status in this life......A Dog's Life indeed ;-)

Kath, get a f*#king dog already!!!!!! Geez! We all loved Skadi, maybe not like you, but I'd hope you trust me in saying that it helps quite a lot to replace a fallen friend with another.
I ain't being a dick either, I hope. You have more wisdom in years than me, but YOU have an obligation as a dog lover to be one of the people that saves another dog from abuse or shelter death.
