A bit of $4.99 Petite Sirah from Gross Out stashed in a Platypus, dragged 2000' up El Cap to Wino Tower, never drunk, rapped 2000' back down, and brought home.

#Drop the water and rap with the booze!

P.S.

Does anyone here use that 'UNTAPPD' app for tracking your alcoholism (e.g. number different beers you drink)?

If so, I'm 'supertaco' (yes, in respect to you cretins). I'll add one or four new beers tonight. Watching football in an effort to quell my post-playoff baseball depression. Surfing tomorrow.

Anita and I are starting out with a Barbera d'Asti from the Piedmont region of northern Italy. This is where the varietal originates.

Guess what?

The Barberas from the Sierra foothills region of Amador, Calaveras and El Dorado counties kick the sh|t out of the Eye-talians' stuff, that's for sure. Problem is, the Cali winemakers are so small, I can't get any at my wine shop in Kentucky. I guess that means we need to make a trip back to the foothills during next spring's wall season.

Among the best winemakers in the region are Hatcher from Murphys, and Mastrasserio from Fairplay. Toogood - right across the street from Mastrasserio - is right up there, too. And of course, Boeger up in Placerville is always a good pick!

Yoga? Oh, what fun. Be still my beating heart.

Is it HOT yoga, Susan, for a HOTTIE like you?? Maybe afterwards Mike will let you play with his new bartacker?

It barely got above freezing here today. That & the PAC-12 Football Championship game tonight, make me want to drink.

Go Washington & Coach Pete!

I opened a bottle of Pinot from the Volcano Winery on the Big Island tonight. We brought it home from a trip there 5 years ago, & I've been skeered to open it, knowing it was going to be bad.

Note my first & only glass of the Pinot sitting to the left of the bottle, while I'm working on a nice bold Italian wine that we discovered last year.

It appears that the Gods are going to make up for the warm & beautiful fall we enjoyed in Idaho.

Nothing but snow & rain is forecast here for the next week, & lots of snow in the mountains.

Make's me want to drink, especially after shoveling 4" of wet sloppy snow off our deck & sidewalks this morning.

Harley (the cat) boiled outside at first light this morning, but never made it off the front porch.

About a half a growler of stout, and some home made local blue berry liquor. Estimated BAC = F UCK YOU.

Been skiing all week, and I'll keep the binge going tomorrow. But my partner for tomorrow has some kind of "groin injury", so I'll have to tone it down for the poor guy. I figured a good hangover would help slow me up. That other half of the growler doesn't stand a chance, and there's a band at the local tonight... Could end up being fun if I don't pass out in the chair first.

I had "6th Conversation" at Discretion Brewery. And their Ploughman's lunch. It was an early drink. Too tired to do much else.

Their description... (geez beer used to be so simple)

6th Conversation
ABV 8.9% IBUs 27 On Tap
“This is divinely delicious. Its effervescence makes me want to celebrate something, but it’s so majestic that I almost want to be all alone with it, thinking big thoughts.”

They assumed she was paying attention only to the beer till she set her tiles down and said, “Triple word score.”

“Nice,” was all they could respond.

Everyone took another sip.

Our Belgian-Style Tripel is unfiltered and golden in color. The aroma is full of fruity esters with a bit of spicy/grassy hops in the background. The flavor begins with a malty sweetness, then finishes with some warming alcohol and a moderately dry hop bitterness.

Cuba might have been better.... it is cool and rainy now, plus other reasons.

Anita will be amused at your comment re my hair. It was a thirteen dollar cut she bought for me in Mariposa in October. It looked really bad. I guess like a fine wine my haircut has matured?

Sorry we missed you guys this fall.

Thursday night is like Friday night when you work 7 days a week for 5 weeks straight.

1 cup of Korbel, 1 cup of Lamark Prosecco, and 3 cups of Prosecco and Martinelli's sparkling cider (really frikin good!). Drunk at work is better than not drunk at work.

Santa's workshop is winding down and a new pair of Volkl's to be added to my quiver as a reward for relentless workage.

The rain is coming down. 500 more gifts to ship. After this weekend I get to return to the land of normal climbers and skiiers.

Hopefully catch up with Moosedrool in Tahoe.

Badger Pass for sure in 2 weeks.
