Brains required. We need a few of those signs here ;) hahahaha..

Ya Ryan! KB's was sick today!!

Luke we'll see what the avy conditions have to say about your plan next week.

Didn't get out today, slept in and got a few things done.. Here's some pics from Friday.

The truck got a 7cm dusting..

It was a gorgeous day. I took this from the top of Excelerator.

Jersey Cream Flats

Sandra having fun in front of Glacier Creek Lodge

We did a groomer to warm up a bit, but on the way there me and tash traversed a bit for a few turns.

They opened the alpine pretty early so we headed up to the Blackcomb Glacier

Sandra and Tash at the top of the hike.

Sandra and I at the top

Blackcomb Glacier

on the way out, looking back up.

The Poop Chutes

If you were wondering what lies just to the right of the last couple shots, you should be. It contains some of the best in-bounds terrain Whistler Blackcomb has to offer.

Spanky's Ladder

I took the last shot a couple years ago.

Sliding snow IS so much fun.

Doesn't matter if you schralp, or if you slide on your own schedule.

Just have fun doing it.

Big mike, the picture of the exit of the glacier reminds me. I think it was two trips ago maybe 09, my brother and I where bombing the last hill before the flats to not walk out and two skiers were hanging to the side of the run. I was probably thinking something like these guys think we are so badass bombing this hill, they probably want to be just like me. Right after we pass them and hit the flats I see why they were stopped and realize they weren't thinking that. We hit an ice field and ate sh#t. I decided to lay down over catching an edge and musta slid 150 meters using my edge when I could. It could have been much worse, but I did catch an edge and twisted my knee pretty good. Good enough to end my trip with a cane, but that did help get me to the front of the lines in the airport, haha. I remember thinking those guys could of warned us, but it's always fun to watch a good wipeout. Good sh#t.

What do you mean "wait and see" Mike?. There is no way of finding out theactual stability of a specific area with out being there. Relying on broad assessments of a general area is not my cup of tea.

you should know that by now

obviously but i'm not about to head up a avalanche path laden drainage under high conditions. It looks like things should settle out by then so it should be fine but i'm not gonna hang my hat on a specific date and go for broke if conditions don't permit.

Nice one Justin! :) Lucky you didn't run into any death cookies.. That wasn't very nice of those dudes, i woulda given a heads up, but i probably wouldn't have been standing there either.. :)

Yeah nothing worse than helplessness and seeing those death cookies off to the left. Mike, what are the chutes called off to the left when you're on Jersey Cream? You drop them of the connection road/ run on the way towards the burnt tree area. It's steep, some trees, and a good range of cliff drops. Love this thread.

Justin you're taking skiers right under the Rendezvous? Crystal is the burnt tree area and it's on the way there i guess...

Ryan you are correct but more people still go up Whistler? ;)

I'm slacking a bit this morning with the slow moving storm. Got a couple tricks up my sleeve tho so i'm looking forward to an excellent day.

After our glacier lap on Friday, Sandra left but me Tash and I hooked up with my friend Nina and we went for a hike up the backside of the Glacier.

It really was a gorgeous day for it, and cold so you didn't have to shed layers like normal.

Nina was right on my heels the whole way, and passed me when I stopped to take those pics. Here she is at the top.

It took tash awhile longer so i got a chance to take this pano of Decker and Disease Ridge

Tash was a good sport.

Looking back towards the glacier.

Riding into the rock zone.

It was still pretty boney so there was some technical rock dodging for a bit to reach the pow.

Nina getting her slash on.

Tash slash

Faceshot!

Time to go get some more! Peace!

Just got caught in an avalanche at Grouse. First time that's happened, to me, and to Grouse. I survived, thanks to a tree. Tree decided it didn't like my board though. Small price to pay I guess.
