Cool, I din't know Dylan wote it.

I remember Robin doing his "Bridge of Sighs" album. I allways thought of it as "Bridge of thighs". But hell, that was back in the day when a bridge of thighs was a bit more important.

I was telling one of my climbing partners tonight, that the music you listened to when you were aged 13 to 19 would become the music of your life. I know there are exceptions, but I do think that is mostly true.

flatliners "T&A"

"i like big big booties and big big (censored) bring it back up like the rocky mountains cuz i'm trying to get a taste of that cokebottle body"

the beat is pretty good, the lyrics are funny and climbing related which is why i shared

i'm listening now to some homegrown hiphop on the future flavor show on the local hiphop station. i would love it if they'd play some more meaningful stuff tho

So why does that have just have no appeal to me? Is it my age? My conservative nature? I just don't get it. I like musicians' to have technical skill with their instruments. I like a person who has spent their life working hard to perfect that skill. Somehow, hip-hop and rap just misses it for me.

Give me a guy who can run the fret board up and down and every second, know where he is. Maybe the hip-hop guys have that with their own vocals or something. I admit, I know little of that style.

maybe since you're so old and wise you can tell us how you can judge the song w/out hearing the whole thing and how tight the beat is?

ha, old but not wise. You're right. I've not heard the song you mentioned. I should. It's just of all the hip hop, rap, I've never liked it. I generalized that "yours" was that.

I'll give it a shot. Did your post give me enough info to find it? Even as old as I am, I do like a good beat.

Ok, now I've heard about 5 songs by the flatlanders. It's old style punk rock. I was a roadie for the band Fox. We went to a concert of the "New York Dolls", kinda the same.

Dull vocals, fair drummer, three cord stummers on guitar. Somewhat interesting lyrics. Rage and frustration as a theme. Tight beat as you say, cause of the drummer mostly. Vocal range, like mine, very limited.

Sorry, pretty girl, not to my taste, just a bit too frantic. But each to their own. I'm sure you would'd like my music and that's ok. But, by the way, the longer I listen to it, the more it grows on me. (still listening, surpising)

OK, I'm a poor typer and speller, but I got the right band, still listening. I'll take back a litte of the 3 cord strummer guitar, none of the limited vocals. Got about a two octave range. Damn drummer is hot.

Well, I grant you, the "New York Dolls" were not as skilled as these guys. Maybe that's the key, same rage and frustation, more skill. After the dolls concert, they saw us backstage, and all they wanted was some ludes. I think maybe I've missed too much of the current music. Gotta take a hit on something.

"The Wait" from the first Pretenders album.
Side A of that record:
Great bite delivered from the instruments, layered with the fetching naughtiness of Chrissie Hynde's vocals.
Yummy.
(picked it up this afternoon, $2.99, mint condition, sleeve & grooves)
