Me, My Wife, and Snake Dike in 3 Minutes and 40 Seconds

The thread where everyone was calling for trip reports made me want to contribute. I was thinking about making a TR for last weekend but my camera died, so I'll just post this video from last year instead. My wife and I had never been on Half Dome, so we figured we'd rather go this way for our first trip up. Turns out if you wait until they take the cables down you can get it all to yourself!

This was really cool camera angles, placement of the camera while you walked by, and overall editing. So short, so full of capturing the essence of the trip!
What kind of camera do you use, how do you mount it on your head, and how do you mount it on the pole? Do you have a pole extender on your helmet too?

Awesome. Sooo cool man. Way to get out there with yer pretty lady and enjoy a long day on the big rock. Very stylish editing. Very tight. Nice creativity. I used a ten foot stick and some tape for my overhead shots in my little video here. (I timelapsed the last mile down the stairs into 20 seconds. Its at the 7 miute mark I think. Have you seen this one of Sierra (12) and I a couple years ago?
It was good seeing you two in the gym the other night. Gimme a holler if you ever wanna hook up outside.

Micro, even without the mullet that video was very nice to watch.
Damn, it seems I need to get a better computer with faster disk access and better editing tools to be able to get into this stuff. Really nice memory captures with these short edited movies. Great gifts to give to the kids.

Thanks for the compliments!
I used the GoPro 1, but the 2 and 3 are out now and work much better in low light. It was either mounted on my helmet or on the end of a trekking pole. They also make a telescoping pole for people to take pictures of themselves that's cheap and works good (but breaks in half if you're snowboarding).
Great video Scott! Recently found out that I knocked my wife up so I'm excited to take my kids into the mountains like that. We'll have to get some winter days on tollhouse this year for sure!

They will carry our gear to the base of all those obscure things we want to do! Nice TR, snake dike was my first ever multi-pitch lead in the end of 2010. Enjoyed it quite a lot, even with lots of people on top etc. IMO a much more enjoyable 5.7 than royal arches..

heck, i thought this was going to be about speed climbing.
did it with my wife awhile back--thanks for jogging the memories. we had a bear instead of a coyote waiting for us when we got down. we attempted to involve it in singing campfire songs, but it left.
