Thanks for taking me along on your great trip, especially since Heidi & I didn't make our annual May trip to the 4-corners area this spring, due to her badly spraining an ankle a week before our scheduled departure.

Sigh, it would have been great to discover all those significant spots as a child, but it was still fun finding them as an adult. You folks are doing some fine parenting, my congrats to you!

Man, you got some lucky kids! These trips are so important and life centering. I had a fourth birthday trip to Yosemite, and we camped in arches a few years later. I still have memories associated with places in both parks that pop up unexpectedly, when I come upon certain trigger spots almost 60 yrs later ( Deto, too!)
Looking fwd to part 2!
Heal up and one father to another, happy Father’s Day!

Thanks for all the good words. Really appreciated all the Facebook well wishes from my hospital bed during my 8 days in hospital after the surgery, too, really meant a lot to me. Happy and grateful. Cheers
