Mal got some great photos. For those of us still around there late in the day yesterday he got his computer out and did a slide show for us of everything he took. He really captured the spirit of the weekend.

Great times and a giant thanks to everyone who put it together and made it happen. Really great to finally put some faces with names.

So far as I can tell no crimes were committed against me. It's sorta tough to sit down right now but I'm thinking that's from the driving. Hell... ron didn't run me up a tree after presenting him with the Golden Chisel award.

Well you know Doug I've never used a chisel* to manufacture a route, just drills and a rat tail file (I have to be careful about saying "rat" around Junior). But what the hey! Now that you've given me one (and even painted it so distinctly for me) I might as well go and try it out. Huh?

Rad, you're not far off. Apparently there were too many distractions. Mind you, I have no objections to seperating the inebriated from their pecuniary resources, but the focus is best kept on the game rather than the repeated attempts to get our asses busted for noise. (You yourself observed that I had remained sober enough to drive home in the wee hours...)

Besides, Texas Hold-em no limit is the best game for a television viewer with a "god-cam".
You give me a seven handed game of limit Hi-lo with the last to bet or raise as the first to declare and I'm all over it.
Perhaps if we had moved the game to Mike's RV which pulled in at 11:30, but he didn't know where we were (must've been deaf), and nobody supervised logistics (note to future SF organizers).

This may not be kosher but I just came up with something tasty. I got the idea from a segment on a $1,000 per pie pizza being sold in NYC that was topped with caviar.

So I just tried some canadian bacon and pineapple also topped (after cooking) with a little ikura and it turns out to be fantastic.

Thank you to everyone for a fantastic weekend! Especially Nature, Mother Nature, the Brutus of Wyde, Nurse Ratchet, Piton Ron, Crimpergirl, Mal, and Happiegirl. And the cast of thousands of helpers.

Hopefully we can have another such gathering in the autumn or next spring, involving even more. Though I fear that nametags may be advisable.

Here ismy brief post-SF report. (No photos yet.) Some of us had a bagel for lunch on Monday in St. George - it was still raining. To be precise, it started raining on Sunday morning, and continued to do so, sometimes heavily, through Monday. Desert schmesert.

After the bagel, I set out for Zion. I'm pretty sure I was there - there were signs and buildings and shuttle buses and things. But I didn't actually see it - it was pouring rain the whole time. Teach me to behave like a real tourist. I didn't see any Zionists or AIPACers or any of Daftrat's imaginary friends, either. But the drive out via the tunnel was pretty neat - I hoped to stop at the galleries and peer out, but was in the middle of a traffic-serpent, so no such luck.

Then it stopped raining. (There was 1" in Zion on Monday.) It started snowing instead, as I headed north on highway 89. It's probably pretty ranch and farm country, with mountains on both sides - if you can see anything. I bivouaced in the Richfield area. A pile of Scandinavians settled in the area. They even have a Scandinavian festival, but I missed it. But many of the businesses have -sen and -son names.

Today I wandered north via scenic highways and byways, and am now benighted in the SLC area, or is that in the benighted SLC area? If accosted by missionaries, I decided that I would claim to be a Zoroastrian or Manichean or possibly neo-con. Nothing like comparative religions for muddying the water.

I not only experienced a great deal of rain and snow on this trip, I also acquired a cold. Wednesday I have some meetings (Fatty: not with the RNC), and hope to drop by Jello in Ogden before heading north.

What a party! Nature - thanks so much for organizing such a good time
and keep the fest alive. Lots of thanks are due all around. Nature,
Mother Nature, Piton Ron, and Brutus of Wyde, and Nurse Ratchet all worked
their asses off cranking out an endless stream of amazing sushi. All in all
it was incredible meeting so many of you all in the flesh after several years
of virutal bantering. Real faces, real voices.

The only way I could have enjoyed it more is if I hadn't been climbed completely stupid
by Larry DeAngelo in Red Rocks before heading for the Sushifest. As it was,
I got such a savage beating up in First Creek Canyon I was a virtual Alzhiemer's
case for the next four days - Judy Who? Where's my tequila? Is the van in park?
How do the doors work? Am I wearing underwear? What's your name again?
Sh#t, did I forget my towel again? I didn't just turn the wrong way onto a
one way street did I...? On and on it went for four days and I can tell you
the tequila didn't help one bit.

Malcolm was an animal with his camera for the whole event and has the
real trove of images but here are a couple I managed to catch.

The stone speaks for itself

Amazingly, that is only 4mph over the speed limit.

Joe's speed is nothing compared to Happigrrrl. You should see her drive! We were doing 95 on the tail of a police car when I casually mentioned perhaps we should slow it down a wee bit. He immediately rode behind her for a couple of miles as she did 75 like a good defensive driver. He bolted off and to the floor went her pedal again! Hilarious!

The last day, there were about ten of us staying to load the all-in and clean the campsite. We were about to leave and noticed that Sketchyy was no where to be seen - still asleep in his rig. A lot of giggling ensued saying how he would get up, emerge and find the place vacant. That would have been cruel! Luckily for him, he emerged just before we all pulled out.

Uhhh... Still drinking the Euro piss water and it still tastes good! Yum yum... But, ya gotta watch out for the hangover when you skip most of dinner to rock out to some death metal in your Death Star with the only other true metalhead at the party... Sushi, what sushi? I thought this was a beer party! Damn, I was so drunk that my hat was on backwards!

And, it wasn't at 6am, Russ... I was still dead at 6.... more like around 9 when I kept down the first batch while trying to quickly put my pants on and jump out to make a run for it. I only made it to my front wheel and then that was it... seemed like I got some good distance on that one!

Hey, that was a great party and it was fun to meet you all! Thanks for the good times!
Thanks to Nature, Brutus and Em, and Ron for slicing and dicing and EXTRA thanks to Mother Nature!!! You all put in so much effort to make everything happen according to plan. The sushi was great, the breakfasts were great... the party was great! What more need you? THANKS!!!

Oh, wait, I almost forgot the gun stuff! ...Guess it wasn't really that important... or at least the weather decided so. NEXT TIME!!!!! Next time I will get the chance to teach you hippies how to be a good redneck!!! (That's a joke... really.) So, on the way home, Wade Icey (Steve) and I stopped at one of my favorite redneck hangouts and unleashed a bit of lead and made things go BOOM. I have to admit though, that Wade took more of a liking to blasting than I had expected, given that he is a good peaceful Cali hippie... Hey Wade, tell 'em about that bowling pin!

Tom, in Montucky, you can pass a MHP @ 79mph and they won't even look at you. Up to 89mph, the ticket is $20.00 and it can be paid on the spot without counting as a moving violation or reported to the insurance companies. Man, I love this state. A few weeks ago, I was clocked @ 91 in my Legacy wagon, and because my record was relatively clean (1 careless w/in 3 years) and I pulled over right away, he wrote me up for 85 and the "cheap ticket". Go speed racer.

Yeah a .22 in my calf. A good bro and I were F...ng around and he keep walking in front of the dart board so I stuck a balanced dart in his leg ( Pretty deep), He went and got a gun and I took off running up the street, I was about 125+ yards and thought I had got away and bamm, I went tumbling down the street with a very burning sensation in my leg. Back then I had an open perscription for Codene ( construction accident), that and alot of vodka and he dug it out with some needle nose pliers. Good times... In those days we always had broken knuckles and open scars over our eyebrows, glad I got married so I didn't get killed.

.22LR in the leg is not as bad as the .22mag Randy Grandstaff got in the ass by his cousin. Took 3-4 months to heal and then the family gathered round to watch Randy beat the crap out of his cousin.
