Sh#t, man. . . it's really coming to an end.

Say what you will. . . this format ROCKS!

I'm right and left brained = non-linear and linear. . . but I really like the long ass list of undivided topics, here at TheTacoStand.

I'm gonna miss it.

I'm sure as shootin' not gonna miss the narcissistic trouble makers, though.

I cannot make it since I have to get up early to go climbing tomorrow and I am going to a bouldering competition tonight at Metalmark, so this will probably be my last post. Here is a toast to the greatest climbing forum. There are others, which I am part of, but there will never be one like ST. I met a lot of climbers through this forum. I never got to Facelift, but went to both of the Shuteye SuperTaco get-togethers. Thank you Chris and RJ for this great forum. I will miss the many great, not so great, and the terrible posts - all will be missed along with the posters.

Midnight is far too late for me, but before I go, I do want to point out that the Supertaco T-shirt Nature is wearing in those pictures at the top of this thread ain't just for show.

Took this shot of him while we were climbing at Index. He's pretending to be cool, but a couple of "moderate" climbs there gave him a pretty good workout.

That was a great few days, which we all celebrated in one of my favorite ST threads: "Nature visits the non-stop erotic cabaret".

Can’t keep my eyes open that long.
Prepping for a trip to the Arctic Ocean.
That’ll make a nice break from what was.

My fav poem of grief from Woolworth...

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

So long....see you all, or most, at FaceLift.

Signing off,

The project for the day was to cut down, limb, & stack the cord wood from an 80' tall well-spread out dead fruit tree. I got the the 30" diameter tree down, limbs cut off & off the lawn, but hauling limbs to the landfill & stacking cordwood will wait to tomorrrow.

I'll write one last post to express my gratitude.

I've been most lucky when it comes to the people I meet, the friends I make and the people I've worked with.

JB, of course. Becoming his friend and business partner was like playing with the Beatles for me.

But I also want to mention my friends Steve A. Karafa and Michael Reardon. Each was a master at his craft. John used to say Steve was a 5.13 fly-fisherman. I once saw him stick his hand in the stream after softly walking up to the bank and pull out a trout. And Reardon was such a blast to hang out with. He was the kind of person whose company made you feel energized and optimistic. A true force of nature.

And of course, meeting so many fiends and loved ones along the way has been a blessing. Paola, Peter C, Ron G, Dave Y, Lynn H... And all of you who, at one time or another, took the time.

Thank you each and every one.
